A clothes encounter of the electronic kind led a man to plead guilty to voyeurism for taking pictures in a store change room.

Assistant Crown attorney Trisha McCarthy told Justice Eleanor Schnall the woman had noticed Nguyen was looking at her while she was choosing clothes to try on.

London police arrested Nguyen and seized his cellphone.

At police headquarters, Nguyen told an officer he had hid the memory card in his anus.

Nguyen later retrieved the card for police and made a full statement.

Nguyen’s home computers were also searched but police found no other photos.

No photos of the woman at the store were found, defence lawyer Jason Skinner said, because police inadvertently erased the images.

Skinner, who asked for a pre-sentence report, said he would seek a conditional discharge.

He said Nguyen was in the change room trying on clothing for a wedding he was attending.

The Crown is seeking a suspended sentence with 15 months’ probation.
